Robin Smith, Executive Producer, Health and Harmony Media, won a 2012 Emmy Award for “Mothers in Recovery.” The program won in the video journalist category at the awards presented by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The video tells the story of women in a program offered by San Luis Obispo Drug and Alcohol Services called POEG (Perinatal Outpatient Extended Group). It is specifically designed for mothers and their children. POEG provides a safe, positive, structured drug and alcohol free environment with focus on the family as a unit. most appropriate treatment program.
“Children and Families Monthly Update” was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2009. The program is funded by First 5, Children and Families Commission of San Luis Obispo County. This television program features stories that improve education, health, and well-being of children. Some of the stories over the years have highlighted childhood obesity, postpartum depression, literacy skills, and early childhood development.
“Feel Like Yourself Again - Understanding Postpartum Depression and Other Mood Disorders” was featured at the 23rd Annual Conference for Postpartum Support International. The conference was also hosted by Los Angeles Perinatal Mental Health Task Force and California Endowment.

Besides having received the national CINE Golden Eagle Award in 2009, “John and Howard - Voices to Remember” is endorsed by the American Cancer Society and the American Lung Association as an effective social marketing program for the prevention of tobacco use among students. The program is a regular part of health education curriculum in San Luis Obispo County school districts.
